Best time to visit
I was invited to go watch my friend’s colleague play jazz at the Two Corks and Bottle located in the uptown area. As we were driving around, I noticed that parking was hard to come by. If you wanted to park in the parking lot it was valet only. We had to park down the street. So if you’re walking a far distance to get to the venue, you might want to wear comfortable shoes. Two Corks and Bottle is located in the uptown area where there are multiple businesses and bars. It’s hard to see the bar from the street as it is located in a courtyard area.
An easel was setup beside the entrance and listed the entertainment performing that night and weekend. The wine bar is known more for jazz and blues. I noticed how intimate and cozy it was. It is a good place to take a date after dinner or just to relax with some friends and enjoy the music. If you don’t eat dinner beforehand, Two Corks has a list of nearby restaurant menus that you can order from and they will deliver. Our group ordered from a couple of different places. We were sitting close to the entrance and near the band, but it did not get so loud that I couldn't hear our conversation. I went on a Friday and the crowd I would say was more middle-aged and older.
The bar makes their own wines and the prices by the glass and bottle are pretty reasonable. They will let you taste the wines as long as they already have a bottle open, otherwise, you would have to purchase it. If you do not finish the bottle of wine, they will cork and package it for you to take home. There was only one person working here that night, so getting service was a little hard. At times I had to walk up to the bar to get another glass of wine. When we asked the bartender why he was the only one there, he mentioned that the other server walked out and quit, so he was shorthanded.
I really enjoyed the tasteful decor and just the way the place felt so comfortable as soon as you enter. This shop has wine and paint events from time to time. The only downside was that it got a little hot and stuffy after awhile, but overall I enjoyed it and can't wait to go back.
