The Courtyard Boston Brookline is a midrange hotel located about 4 miles from downtown Boston. The hotel has 8 floors, 187 rooms and a suite. Some rooms have whirlpools. The Courtyard was built in 2003 and is a non-smoking hotel. Pets are not accepted. The rooms include a small refrigerator, and the hotel also can provide a microwave upon request.

Brookline is a happening area with a bevy of bars and restaurants that are well-suited for the sophisticated traveler with discerning taste. Also, there are dozens of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The Courtyard is located slightly off of Beacon Street and traffic noise is minimal. There is a local train station a block away, and the train to downtown Boston takes about 30 minutes. Hotel amenities include an indoor pool and whirlpool, a workout room, and two computers. There is a snack bar type restaurant as well. Parking is available in a garage below the hotel but includes a steep $28 daily charge. Room rates can range between $200-350, not including taxes or parking fees.

When arriving at a hotel past midnight quick and helpful service is what you need and should receive. In this regard, the Courtyard came through. The front desk clerk was welcoming and accommodated a specific request for a quieter room on a higher floor. Hall noise was minimal but sinks and toilet noises from neighboring rooms were audible. The room was clean and in good order. While it was summertime, to keep the room at a comfortable temperature the thermostat had to be set at 79 degrees meaning the heat was on. Without the heat, the bed quilt was too skimpy to provide enough warmth. The bed mattress was fairly comfortable but the pillow was rock hard. The housekeepers were pleasant and quickly provided additional shampoo and towels upon request. The Courtyard stay was generally good, but given the cost of living in this area be prepared for sticker shock when the bill arrives at the end of your stay.
