This location has closed. My friends a I ventured out to Nick and Sam’s in Addison. There is a Nick and Sam’s in Uptown, but the menu is different from what I was told by the wait staff. As you walk up to the establishment, there is a Coal Vines to the left, LOOK movie theater in the middle and Nick and Sam's is on the right. To the left of the restaurant entrance is an outside patio. It is very comfortable looking with good tables and big umbrellas for shade, which is nice in the summer Dallas weather.

The first thing that you see as you walk into Sam's is the bar. And when I say bar, it is all bar. There are only a few tables in the bar area and some limited barstool seating. If you are going for happy hour, you need to go early in order to get a seat at the bar. I got there about 5:30pm on a Friday and there were a few seats available, but by 6:30pm, the bar area was full. On the other side of the bar is the main restaurant.

The happy hour drink specials are as follows: $5 Drafts, $5 House Wine, and $5 Sangria's. They had a variety of Sangria's. I tried the Pomegranate. It was very refreshing and light. My friend had the Pink Sangria which was a little heavier then the Pomegranate. It looked like a Tequila Sunrise. When I tasted the Pink Sangria, all I could taste was the orange juice. My other friend had a Top Self Margarita. I could smell the tequila from where I was sitting. I'm sure it packed a punch. They do their Cosmo’s differently at Nick and Sam’s from other places. They take an orange peel and set it on fire to get the flavor of orange. The drink was filled to the rim, but all I could taste was the orange. Maybe you can tell I'm not a big fan of drinks that taste like orange.

They did not have a happy hour food menu so we ordered from the regular menu. They make their own hummus, and from what my friend said it was really good. My other friend and I split the Mediterranean flatbread (veggie) and fries. The flatbread was pretty good, a little greasy from the cheese, but it was cooked well. The fries were a little too salty and soggy for my taste, so I let my friend devour the rest of the fries. They also have a brunch menu on Sundays and an all day $10 carafe special on Sundays as well. Although, not the best bar and restaurant I've been to in Dallas, I would go back.
