First review
The Fairfield Inn & Suites Jacksonville Airport is an economy style hotel built in 1999. It has 3 floors, 107 rooms and 18 suites. The hotel is nonsmoking and does not accept pets. It is located about a 1/4 mile from Interstate 95 and approximately 5 minutes by car from Jasonville Airport. Rates for a standard room range from $90-130 depending on the time of year and hotel occupancy levels. Suites are about $10 extra, and parking is free.

Like with many hotels in Florida, the pool is outdoors. There also is a small workout room, a laundry room and guest computers. All rooms include a fridge and microwave. The suites are about 1/3 larger in size and have pullout beds in a living room section. The Fairfield Inn serves a hot breakfast as well and it includes such items as eggs, bacon, yogurt and fruit. As for local restaurants, Longhorn Steakhouse, Ruby Tuesday and a Zaxby’s (fast-food chicken) are within walking distance of the hotel. Alternatively, a free hotel shuttle takes guests to a nearby shopping center that has an Olive Garden and Cracker Barrel restaurant. The shuttle also provides transportation to the Jacksonville Airport.

The front desk clerk was welcoming and a real pro at customer service. She provided a key so a room could be inspected prior to checking in. Later on she was very adept at managing multiple guests, phone calls and requests in an orderly way. The property itself just had been renovated and so was clean and contemporary. As for the room, the bed was comfortable, and bathroom equipment worked well. The shower was a bit narrow though. Climate controls worked OK at night, but the room was a bit stuffy in the morning. A small permanent stain was noticeable on the sink counter, perhaps from a coffee spill. The hotel was quiet both in regard to interior noises like doors and elevators as well as exterior noises like traffic and planes. Breakfast the next morning was limited to a waffle and a glass of OJ. The waffle was standard tasting but filling. The Fairfield Inn delivered where it counts most, a clean and quiet room for a reasonable price and with good service, so it earns a recommendation on this website.
