A solid choice for an economy lodging option in north Atlanta
Fairfield Inn & Suites Atlanta Perimeter Center is an economy hotel located north of Atlanta and near the Perimeter Highway which circles greater Atlanta. The hotel was built in 1997 and has 5 floors, 114 rooms and about a dozen suites. The suites have an extended living area and a pullout couch. All the rooms have a microwave and small refrigerator. The hotel does not accept pets. Parking is free.
This Fairfield Inn has a premium location. It’s within walking distance (about 10 minutes) to Perimeter Mall, which has a bevy of shops and a variety of restaurants. Even closer to the hotel is a grocery store, an upscale steak and seafood restaurant called Chequers, and a Marta Rail Station with rail service to downtown Atlanta and the airport. Hotel amenities include an indoor pool, whirlpool, small workout room, and a guest computer.
While the Fairfield is located about 700-800 feet from the highway, traffic noise was not an issue. Also the noise levels inside the hotel were quiet. Requesting a room at the end of the hall should make it quieter still. The room was clean, and furniture was in good working order. The bed was a little softer than desired but still reasonably comfortable. Climate controls and bathroom equipment worked properly. Service at the front desk was professional. The clerk was personable and quickly responded to a request for more towels and soap. There was not enough time for breakfast, but it included such items as pancakes, eggs and sausage. Room rates vary considerably depending on occupancy levels and day of the week; a room with a king bed room ranges from $80-160. The Fairfield delivered on a pleasant hotel stay. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Service was attentive, and the hotel location was good. This hotel is a solid choice for economy lodging in north Atlanta. It’s also close enough to downtown to be a convenient drive but far enough way to avoid the higher rates of such in town properties.
