This location has closed. China Jade Bistro is a single location table service restaurant with standard American Chinese cuisine. Food prices are about average and the menu is midsized. There are a number of familiar entrees such as moo shi pork, sweet and sour chicken and Szechuan beef. Vegetarian dishes are also available. China Jade offers dine-in or carryout and has a full bar.

China Jade opened in late 2012, replacing a prior Chinese restaurant. The shopping center is in a quiet and moderately upscale suburban location. There is plenty of parking nearby and a number of additional restaurants at the center such as a deli and pizza place. China Jade’s dining room was clean and had a mix of tables and booths; the tables had real tablecloths. The restaurant was quiet around 8:30pm on a Sunday. Traditional Chinese lute music was in the background.

The hot and sour soup was billed as hot and spicy, and while it was hot in a temperature sense it was lacking in the spicy sense. The portion was on the smaller side too. The soup was moderately filling and there was a decent amount of tofu. The steamed vegetable dumplings were a hit. With an interior of shredded scallions and carrots (and mushrooms?) complemented by a soft steamed exterior, the dish was very appetizing. Soy sauce made it taste even better. The entrees of chicken with string beans and mixed vegetables also delivered. The chicken and string beans were made spicy by request and here the spice hit the mark. Well cooked chicken with crisp beans and a spicy sauce is a powerful combination. The mixed vegetables were fresh, crispy and prepared such that the individual tastes stood out, making the entire dish more savory. The rice was nothing special but some sliced oranges and fortune cookies were a nice dessert follow-up. The server was personable and professional. China Jade is the type of place that could become a regular hangout if you live nearby and is worth a short drive if you don’t.
