The Fairfield Inn & Suites in Redding is an economy hotel located just off Interstate 5. It was built in 2010 and has three floors and 58 rooms. The hotel has standard amenities of a hotel in this grade and for the Fairfield brand including an outdoor pool, workout room, guest computers and a breakfast area next to the lobby. The hotel was modern, clean and well-maintained.

The Fairfield is located about 4 miles north of downtown Redding, which is where most of the entertainment, restaurants and shops are located in the area. There was practically nothing of interest around the hotel itself, so expect to drive if you want to get some dinner when staying here. The hotel is very convenient to the highway but this comes at the price of hearing highway traffic. It can be minimized though if you request a room facing away from the road. Rooms typically cost around $95-130, depending on the day of the week and time of year.

The most important part of any hotel stay is the quality of the room, and the room here was clean and the furnishings were in good shape. There were two beds, both of which were firm and comfortable. One minor negative is that the room itself was a bit small for two beds. They fit OK but without much room to spare. The air conditioning and heat controls both worked well. From a noise perspective, other bathroom sounds, such as toilets and showers could be heard and there was modest noise from the hallway as well. It was noticeable but not unduly annoying. Service at the front desk was professional and pleasant. Requests for extra soap and towels were quickly facilitated. The stay on the first night was good enough to come back again for another visit and that was satisfying as well, so the Fairfield Inn merits high marks for providing good value and a quality lodging experience.
