Drury Inn & Suites is a mid-range hotel with 160 rooms and suites. It was built in 2008. The hotel is nonsmoking but does accept pets for a $10 daily fee. Rooms rates range from $130-180, and suites are about $50 extra. The rooms have small fridges and microwaves. The suites are larger, and also have a separate bedroom, sleeper sofa and a terrace. Parking is free.

Hotel amenities include an indoor pool and an exercise room. There are also some guest computers. A full hot breakfast is offered as is an afternoon hot snack at 5:30pm with such foods as hot dogs, pasta, and potatoes. Afternoon drinks such as beer and wine are served as well. Popcorn and sodas are available from 3:00-10:00pm. As for the local area, a more upscale restaurant called 1899 Bar and Grill is right out back. A Dairy Queen and Jack in the Box are within a quarter mile. Various buildings of Northern Arizona University are nearby.

A visit here took place Labor Day weekend and was initially going to be a one night stay, but it became clear that hotel vacancies were practically nonexistent in the area, so the stay was extended to two nights. The front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful. He offered a courtesy upgrade to a suite when a specific request was made for a quiet room. By the way, if you are a light sleeper, upgrading to a suite is money well spent, because door and hallway noises were fairly loud; though traffic noise in the back of the hotel was not an issue. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Furnishings were in good order. The shower though was a bit narrow, and the room AC was somewhat stuffy in the morning. Breakfast was packed, loud and frenetic; clearly a high volume service. Interestingly, there was a sign that advised guests may need to produce a room key if asked, so it's likely there have been issues with freeloaders. Food quality was good with appetizing eggs, biscuits and potatoes. There were also sausages and waffles. Based mainly on the enhanced privacy and extra space afforded by the suite, Drury Inn was an enjoyable place to stay for a couple of nights. It would get a lower rating for a regular room due to noise issues in the hall. Also, there was a wet spot in the hall carpet that never dried, so there probably was a leaking pipe. The leak did not affect the overall quality of the stay, but did reflect negatively on the hotel staff’s attention to detail.
