The Great American Grill Restaurant at the Hilton Garden Inn is a table service restaurant located inside the hotel. The menu has a mix of meat and seafood entrees. Salads, sandwiches and pizzas are also available. The hotel’s main floor including the American Grill Restaurant and a bar is located on the 11th floor. Parking is available in a parking garage on the first 10 floors.

The restaurant is located off the hotel lobby. There were few decorations, so the restaurant does not score well from a style perspective. However, space was ample and there was plenty of room between tables. There was a relaxed hotel type atmosphere around here without any pressure to eat quickly or the noise and distractions that are typical of high traffic restaurants. The hostess/server at the dinner service was pleasant, courteous, and helpful. She knew the menu well and made useful recommendations.

In a city that is known for food and is home to world famous restaurants, a hotel restaurant that is less visible and less accessible, would need to serve some pretty strong dishes to merit a favorable review on BlitzQuest. That was the case with the Great American Grill. It was good enough in February to earn a return visit in December. Both visits included an appetizer of succulent flash fried artichoke hearts with a delicious horseradish dipping sauce. A tomato basil soup of the day was also a hit with a rich, creamy taste and just the right amounts of tomatoes. A flat bread pizza was not quite hot enough but included an interesting garlic dipping sauce that really worked with the dish. For dessert a bread pudding served warm with bananas was a nice wrap up to an enjoyable meal on both visits. Whether you are a hotel guest or just in the neighborhood, this restaurant is a surprisingly good and little known choice for dinner. Quality food, pleasant staff and quiet surroundings were just the right ingredients for a great meal on both visits.
