The entrance area was accessible. Also, there was plenty of parking and the spots were wide enough for larger cars.

The Hilton Garden Inn is a mid-range free standing hotel built in 2001. Hotel amenities are consistent with a hotel in this area and grade, and include a breakfast restaurant, indoor pool, workout room and some meeting rooms. The hotel is located in a busy commercial area with plenty of shops and restaurants, including half a dozen restaurants within walking distance. Colonial Williamsburg is only a few miles away.

The hotel has 4 floors and 119 rooms. There are 17 suites. The suites have an extra living room that is separated from the bedroom. Hilton Garden Inns have air-style mattresses for king and queen beds and these tend to be more comfortable than the conventional mattresses. A few rooms on the fourth floor are reserved for smokers. Otherwise the hotel is non-smoking.

The stay here was average. On the plus side, the staff were courteous and helpful. A change of room request was made quickly and without any issues. The room was quiet both for interior and exterior noise. The bedroom and the bathroom were clean and the supply of towels was adequate. On the minus side, the bed, which was not an air mattress style, was excessively soft and rather uncomfortable. Room d├ęcor was a bit dated and could use an upgrade. The air-conditioning was spotty, too cold at night and too hot in the morning. The elevators ran very slowly perhaps because the hotel was full; at times it was faster to take the stairs. Also, the elevators were exceedingly stuffy. There was not sufficient time to try out the breakfast, so no opinion on the food quality. In general, this hotel was adequate and the price was in-line with comparable properties, however it would not be a first choice of places to stay when in the area. Discounts and specials may be offered on the hotel's website.
