Best Thai is a family owned Thai and vegetarian casual dining restaurant in Dallas. The menu is large and includes a number of vegan options. Best Thai also offers meat or tofu substitutions for many dishes and can make food more or less spicy upon request. There are enough menu choices to please most pallets, however food was served quickly so the overall dining experience felt a bit rushed and impersonal.

There are several Best Thai locations in the Dallas area, and the restaurant also offers delivery. The Addison location has one main room with a few partitions, offering some separation from other diners. Overall noise levels can be high when the restaurant is full, especially during a weekday lunch rush. The Thai themed décor is sparse but tasteful.

As for the food, the Tom Yum vegetarian soup was light and spicy and had ample vegetables. It was good but the Tom Kha soup was better. Also the vegetable egg rolls were larger than average, crunchy and tasty. On the other hand, a soy duck and eggplant dish from the vegan menu was decidedly average. The soy duck itself had a meaty somewhat enjoyable taste, but the rest of the dish was bland and unappetizing. The Thai vegetable combination, with or without chicken, is better than average and vegetables can be substituted upon request. Also, if you like peanuts, the peanut sauce here is worth trying. Overall the food is average to good, but the dining experience was diminished because service was so quick. Even for a larger group of 15 people, the food arrived rapidly, which is great if you are hungry or in a rush but if you want to relax, it’s not conducive. Best Thai is a reasonable choice for fans of Thai food, but as more of a pit stop than a date spot.
